Some people tend to discuss everything thoroughly before they lift a finger themselves.
It’s one thing to pick up a cigarette butt yourself, but it’s quite another to have to spend every Saturday morning after each trade cleaning up their mess. Beyond the significant time effort, this also adds up to quite a bit of money over time, and if you don’t do it, you practically encourage the following trades to "use" the existing pile.
Maybe you’ve come to terms with playing the "maid" for others in your work environment and even like the working-class attitude associated with it ("YPG isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty!", "She doesn’t waste time talking, she gets things done!"). But now to scold anyone who doesn’t want to emulate you in that regard as spoiled white-collar workers with no touch of reality goes several steps too far for me personally.
We’re not talking here about a bitter employee writing a five-page email to HR with CC to everyone who might be interested because colleague Meier (once again!) didn’t put his coffee cup in the dishwasher, but about clients hiring professionals for payment (!) on their own construction site.
There, you are simply the boss, and you probably wouldn’t spend your time in the office running after your employees’ behinds either. This usually has less to do with some form of arrogance and is simply the logical conclusion of a basic business calculation. For the same reason, highly paid specialists are also provided with appropriate assistants.
Putting that aside: I simply see it as a sign of good upbringing to clean up your own mess unless something else has been explicitly agreed upon!
