No no no. That is wrong. Please do not spread such nonsense! The window must be airtight taped from the inside before the window sill is installed and plastered. The painter really has nothing to do with airtightness!

That does you absolutely no good. Sorry, we also believed that back then, but it’s not the case!

Let's just leave this fundamental discussion at the fact that both general contracting construction can succeed or fail, and this can directly apply to construction with individual trades as well.

One street over there is an "architect's house" that has been under construction since 2014.... unplastered, windows installed, roof on.... the basement resembles a dripstone cave and crowds of experts and lawyers have so far been unable to define the cause in a prosecutable manner, and the owners are mentally exhausted..... the electrical wiring is already moldy and has to be torn out. These are really poor people who I feel infinitely sorry for. An example where this highly praised model of individual contracting also went wrong.

Hotzenplotz, I just know that for us it was like this, and the painter, my brother, found it completely normal that the windowsills were simply glued in. The process is, of course, window installation. Then later interior plaster. After gluing in the sills with construction foam. The carpenters do that when they install door frames and so on. So, who makes the transitions? Well, the painter. He putstys the wall anyway, then he also seals the joint. Working with sealant like acrylic is also his thing. The painter also works between the door frame and the wall. Or over tile skirting boards. Karsten PS this does not refer to masking the window frames with [Sigaband]. That is done by the carpenters during installation

So it was also blowing right in at your place until the painter arrived? I can't imagine that such a "window sealing" is normal.

What do you specifically say about the text from the expert that I quoted? Are you not in agreement with him at any point?
