sometimes I don’t know whether to laugh or scream at your posts. The hardware stores you mentioned don’t exactly shine with selection here. There are maybe 10 toilets, 3 of which are branded, the rest are store brands. Showers and bathtubs are even worse. And you have the aforementioned problem. If you don’t want to pay outrageous shipping costs, you have to pick it up in the store. And almost everything is made to order.

If you look at the internet, there are 2 providers who can "shine" both online and in the showroom. These are the ones I already mentioned earlier. The only downside is that both can be found in the Rhineland.

very bad. many parts sold there do not withstand any pressure test and are more than just ticking time bombs. everything that has to do with water and pressure should not be cheap China junk. don’t put yourself through that! hundreds of thousands spent on the house and then saved 500€ and the house floods. and if the insurance agent then finds out that the whole flooding was caused by a cheap fitting without approval, they might not even pay (or you’ll have to painfully sue with an expert witness etc...). and unfortunately, the hardware stores sell a lot of this nonsense without approval. a sanitation company is not even allowed to install such parts. that should make you think

It also depends on your own needs. For Nordlys, the IKEA appliances were sufficient.
For us, even the IKEA kitchen with BSH appliances from the internet (shipping costs etc. not yet included) was rather bad in terms of price for the quality of the kitchen offered. We initially thought the IKEA kitchen would be cheap. But it wasn't after adding everything up and comparing it with the best prices from studios and furniture stores for better kitchens with the same appliances.

Since the topic of shopping is now relevant again:

Which version did you install there? Feel free to send me a PM with links. Actually, we have now decided on the model too, in the end it's just a toilet bowl, I like the model anyway and my wife also doesn't see any reason to spend more money right away to get a "nicer" model.

I find the Villeroy & Boch Omnia Architectura very appealing at least in terms of the combination of looks and price. How does it look now with in the stress test? Does anything overflow there?

We are about to move in and I am currently taking care of procurement. These four are on my list of options:

- Hardware store toilet for €27, siphonic toilet with a normal rim
- Hardware store toilet for €89, siphonic toilet without a rim
- Villeroy & Boch Omnia Architectura ~€110, siphonic toilet without a rim
- Toto toilet ~€450, pseudo rimless siphonic toilet

We bought medium quality at the hardware store (toilets about €180-220 each, you can still negotiate there), did the demolition and assembly ourselves, the plumbers did the rough installation and set the shower walls and tub, and the tilers did the tiles (we got the tiles significantly cheaper through him at the specialist retailer). We paid about €6,000-8,000 for 2 small bathrooms. I can’t say exactly because the plumbers did a lot in the house and I can’t clearly separate the items. We mostly have Grohe and Hans Grohe, Keramag and Schulte. A new window was also installed immediately, as our own work.

But it was a lot of work, I don’t want to hide that. Coordinating the trades (electrician, plumber, tiler) and our own work was not easy either.
