You buy [ikea kitchens] as carcasses and doors, not the appliances. Those you buy online at the best prices. Except for the stove, everything is also Schuko and is electrically connected in 2 seconds (plug it in, done). But that's not the point here.
"Mischkalkulation" is a buzzword in the trade to pull money out of the customer's pocket. Everyone complains that you should buy more locally instead of on the Internet. But by now, there are no skilled workers locally anymore. The train has left the station and there's no turning back. In a desperate attempt by the managers of local stores to continue financing their €2000 leased cars and luxury yachts, they save on staff. No matter where, the employees are unqualified people earning €8.50. No one can explain the simplest things, suggest anything, or impress with expertise. By now, the sales staff at Media Markt are more competent than the shoe salesperson, sanitary salesperson, etc...
And then of course, you have the fact that locally one can stock or display far less merchandise. The local showroom has 5 washbasins. 2 luxury, 2 cheap, 1 normal. If you don't like the normal one, you have to choose either the budget or luxury class. And in many areas, you want to take the goods with you right away. When they then start with "we have to order that," I seriously ask what I get out of it compared to ordering online myself. It's cheaper and now comes the really big kicker: they deliver it to me from the Internet!!! And I don't have to drive back to the store first.
I like to buy locally if the service is right. (TVs, projectors, etc. all bought locally)
But if I'm better off online cheaper, faster, and better, the local store has lost. If you can shop online properly like at a supermarket, I will join in too.
