The lawn mowing robot is on – which one do you use and what do you say about it?

I think that all the manufacturers are now slowly starting to address such topics in their software. At least I know that Worx now has the function "Save the Hedgehogs," where the robot only operates outside of dusk/night.

I am not aware of any, even though the manufacturers of course all emphasize how safe their vehicles are. We have had a robotic lawn mower for almost eight years and live right next to the forest. So there are many hedgehogs here. Nevertheless, nothing has ever happened during that time, although the mower usually operates during the day according to an automatic schedule.

We also have it in that size in the club. Sit on it and enjoy the ride. :p

I have seen exactly 1! (in words: One!) hedgehog in the area in the last 10 years. So I think it always strongly depends on where the property is located and whether hedgehogs can be found there at all. In my opinion, the problem is artificial natured even though I am of course familiar with the pictures from the hedgehog rescue centers.

Nevertheless, just let the robot run during the day and that's it. It is absolutely no effort to simply leave it at the charging station during dusk and night.

But it can’t clean joints yet, as can be seen in the picture. :D

Robots equipped with additional ultrasonic sensors slow down almost to a standstill. They turn around at the slightest touch. However, such equipment is mostly found only in the premium segment.
Mowers should be sized large enough so that the work can be done in a few hours.
Regarding hedgehog safety, one must also distinguish between mowers with large, fixed blades and the small "loose" ones that only cut a few millimeters. The latter pose no problem at all. No hedgehog can fit underneath, and the mower stops immediately…
