How much spacing does their "slatted grid" surface require, or would "tongue and groove" closed also apply?

We had a steel swing frame on the meadow, and the sandbox out of earshot of the sunbathing moms. They didn’t need to hear the conspiratorial conversations during sandcastle building (detective and Indian secrets).

Applies only to open "slatted bases" and no concrete slab underneath. Counts as "not sealed and not built over."

Hello and thank you very much for all the suggestions. Regarding my other thread about the fence, I have not decided yet because we are building the terraces first.

So why I want a large terrace: To have less greenery to maintain. Sure, the swing and sandbox can go somewhere else, but also because I need the space on the terrace: The neighbor only has a table placed in the middle and it already gets too tight. I want a much bigger table. A small one on the small terrace. Otherwise, I have no wishes. The grill still needs to be positioned, I had not thought about it being close to the terrace. I thought rather something farther away because of the smoke somewhere in the garden.

Back then, I had the building authority calculate it, of course, I have nothing concrete, but since my property is very large, I know that I can seal a lot of area without exceeding the limit. As for the roofing, probably 3m deep is possible but the distances to the neighbors would have to be inquired about, whether I need the neighbor’s OKAY. I asked today at the building authority, they want 200 euros for the building request. Only then will they answer me about the roofing. Regarding the terrace, the lady calculated it for me back then, so I know I could seal a lot, but unfortunately, I have nothing in writing. Considering the neighborhood relations and the building authority here, I would now first invest 200 euros for a building request to be sure how much is allowed at all. If there are no restrictions, I want to have furniture, a table, etc. on the terrace; planting with pots can be placed anywhere anyway... It is easier to maintain the garden later if more is sealed. For me, I still have enough garden.

Tomorrow I will calmly read everything here again regarding material. After long research, I have come to the conclusion that I do not want to lay thin slabs on concrete, but rather on gravel. I had not thought about wood at all, which was recommended here. I will look at the alternatives recommended here at Bauhaus.

And one more thing: I basically have 3 doors from the house to the garden onto the terrace. Once through the bay window, and 2 doors on the wide side of the house. So 3 large windows that go from the living room onto the terrace.

In the forum, you have so far given the impression of a strong-willed person who thinks very carefully about how things should be. The more surface area you seal, the more heat storage you create. With your tending increase in hot days in Central Europe, this could prove to be a bad idea. I advise finding the right balance.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I am reconsidering my plan once again. The 2 terraces are still clear, I have a huge garden, if I only have the 2 terraces, it’s not too much, it’s a nice size. So 28m2 and 12m2. The question remains how I should connect them. It sounds like a lot, but it’s not that huge after all. Some have written that they also have terraces that large. There will still be a huge garden left. I want to be able to celebrate parties and other children’s birthdays, my parents, I think, have 5 meters wide times 10 meters, I estimate, and then another 10 meters garden length. We have always used the terrace like that, it was always good. Yes, I ask around a lot and get many opinions, but that’s because no matter how much we pay the craftsmen, such trivial things get forgotten. Out of fear of doing something wrong, I am driven to ask further in the forum.
