And what makes you mistakenly assume that the door would behave like that? It reports exactly the state it is in, and if it is merely ajar, it reports that as well. For better understanding, these four states would be possible: 00 - open 01 - tilted 10 - closed 11 - ajar

I wouldn't know how to implement that with a classic sliding door. Do you have any ideas? Where could I place a second contact there?

And where do you then place the sensors to detect whether the handle is turned to lock or the door is only closed and latched but the handle was not turned? I'm really starting to get on my nerves that you always avoid concrete answers here and only make vague hints.

A sliding door is now a different matter... my example applies to normal doors. But even with lift/sliding doors, states like open, closed, and also locked can be distinguished from each other according to the same or a similar principle... all with simple means. However, in order to keep costs and effort low, it must already be considered beforehand which functions are desired.

Ok, then that was a misunderstanding. Our window technician fitted all windows with two contacts to cover exactly these states, but said regarding the sliding door that he can only install one there. So we only have two states there as well. But as I said, we will simply not close the door if someone is outside.

Where you would normally place door and window contacts on/in the door/window frame. The well-known Roto MVS have proven to be quite useful there. For example like this:

I didn’t think someone who is apparently familiar with heat pump controls would find a simple door-window handle position detection to be a challenge. As I said, it’s a trainee-level task to warm up.

Possibly. Who knows what your window installer is familiar with and what they have already encountered. In principle, you could proceed the same way with sliding doors. You just have to experiment a bit with the contacts and the installation situation.
