If one is ignorant, one might argue now that the mortgage is so huge that there’s not enough left for a decent car. I, on the other hand, don’t see it that way. I drive an old car myself. Admittedly a truck, but old. However, you might be right... Because everywhere I look around my area, people drive VW, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, occasionally an older family van or also Renault, Opel etc., and SUVs without end. But I have really very rarely seen a Dacia here in the neighborhood. However, it’s not just people around forty with small children and a dog in my area, but people of all age groups. It’s simply not a (yet) sterile new development area, but an already “established” area. Most here have lived for generations. Plots are rarely sold through the open market. This is your reality. Not mine. And when I look left and right, it’s not the neighbors’ either. These are people around forty with small children and a dog, 1.5 incomes in office jobs, all houses beyond 600k. Plenty of Dacia, Opel, Renault can be seen here. Dinkies have a 1 or 3 series BMW once in a while. But that’s it. The expensive cars are at least seen here mostly at buildings from 1 million upwards, but those are usually self-employed.
