Please don't lose patience and keep at it if it is important to you. Would a plot of land and building a house also be an option for you? You have probably already been advised by others: drive around on weekends and talk to people who are working in their gardens or sweeping paths, etc. And make stickers/business cards with which you offer a reward for a successful referral. Also, now follows a less pleasant hint: unfortunately, people do sometimes get divorced and want to lead a happier life elsewhere. Maybe you will hear something about this and can approach them at an early stage.

You really must not lose courage. It helps everyone to tell that they are looking and to listen attentively to other people. Of course, the internet and keeping your eyes open. Eventually, it works, you just need patience. We had a death in the family, attached are two beautiful plots in Mecklenburg, Lake District. We received purchase interest directly from the family doctor and several neighbors, practically right when they were offering their condolences. Although it is not for sale. But what I want to say is that in good locations it works like this, everyone keeps their eyes and ears open for plots and you can get rid of them completely without any advertisement.

Be glad that it is not Bavaria. It is incredibly expensive here and the market is practically swept clean. Continued good luck with the search!

Thanks for the feedback, I have already started reaching out at work and among acquaintances. But I'm not the only one at work. It feels like everyone under 40 with a family is looking.

Specifically in the KR area, Moers, DU south west of the Rhine.

Because we already live in a mid-terrace house (rented), we know quite well what we do not want.
