To get back to the topic: How much do objects that would interest you cost, or such objects that have interested you in the past?

We have Halle. That is enough for us.

It is like in many cities in the Ruhr area in Duisburg... the average price is manageable because... it is divided into areas where no one wants to go and are super cheap (just like in the East), and really great residential areas where everyone wants to go who can afford it (just like in the West), and the prices accordingly shoot up, as in all big cities in good locations.

But btw., I wouldn’t move to Duisburg either, there are much nicer places around.

Wow! That’s like saying "All foreigners are child molesters and criminals." Totally generalized and populist. In Rheinhausen (which used to be its own city, still with over 70,000 inhabitants) there aren’t only bad areas. Not only marauding migrants run around looting in the streets. In Rheinhausen, you can also spend 400€ per square meter for a building plot. Not bad for a decaying city, as it is partly very sought after. I really liked living there. Nice settlement, walking distance to the Rhine, lots of greenery, children could always play outside (even at 10 p.m.). Great catchment area to Düsseldorf. It always depends on the location. You can also move into the dilapidated row of houses, like in ANY other city as well.

I'm getting a bit worked up right now: who among those who supposedly know what it's like in Duisburg actually lives there? I don't just live in Duisburg but even in Rheinhausen. And – here it comes – even with children. And surprisingly, they have so far survived kindergarten, as well as primary school and even the grammar school. Yes, there are even grammar schools there. And imagine that, we live in a detached single-family house in a green area. And so far, we have neither been attacked, raped, nor harassed by clans, even though the children, as teenagers, do sometimes ride their bikes alone late in the evening or at night. Hmm, and how does that fit into the general worldview of Rheinhausen?

After 20 years, people are still calculating 1€ = 2 DM? Where is the 40% inflation? (2%*20 years) That’s exactly why the old veterans at the regulars' table keep shouting for the DM.
