We moved it back and forth, turned the whole house around, relocated it from top to bottom and so on. Even if that seems hard to understand.... for us, it’s the right way. And just because it doesn’t look good to someone, to claim that we didn’t try enough, I find that a bit presumptuous. There are even several reasons why the shower bathroom is accessible from the living room, but I actually don’t feel like explaining that here any further, because these reasons are probably either not understandable to others or again just a justification for flawed planning. We tried many things because everyone said it was outrageous and ultimately decided it this way. And you don’t look at the toilet but at a door.

Don't let anyone talk you into it. It's your house and you want it just like that. You pay, you decide

I think it makes little sense if you do this as laymen.

Yes, it’s hard to understand. But if it works for you. Of course, you build first and foremost only for yourselves. But you should also have some consideration for the fact that you might have to sell a house well in an emergency. I see clear disadvantages here.

Hm, you don’t just look at the toilet door, you can also hear quite well from the living room what is happening behind it. As a guest, a fart can be pretty embarrassing. I would like to know the many reasons for the accessibility from the living room. I can only think of one: otherwise, you wouldn’t have a wardrobe space at all.

It’s always a problem when the builders only register here after the plan has been submitted. A nicer result with optimal solutions for the property and the family could surely have been found here.

I don't think the classic way of thinking fits here. The family has different requirements and preferences. Nevertheless, I would consider making the toilet accessible from the hallway.

When we have guests, the living room is empty. Unless it’s immediate family. And there is a bathroom downstairs… so you can fart quite undisturbed there. Reason 1: we don’t want a hallway between frequently used rooms. Hallways without windows especially scare our daughter. Reason 2: we want to have the option to heat as little space as possible without having to constantly walk through cold areas. Reason 3: our two cats need free access to the shower bathroom because food and litter box are there, but they must not go to the basement. Reason 4: the cloakroom, although I also had an alternative in mind there. For us, it’s no problem that I only registered here now. The last thing we would have needed while planning were a hundred opinions from people who have no idea about our life but apparently know much better what’s good for us. We worked it out with ourselves and the architect and as it turns out, that was a good decision. And thinking about resale value when building a house and deciding some things so that it fits as many people as possible, I find it totally nonsensical. If we have to sell out of necessity, we have bigger problems anyway, and if not, after our statistical death it’s time for a major renovation anyway. Exactly… that seems completely unimaginable for some. We thought about it and also had alternative plans from the architect. We decided in favor of the current solution.

As soon as everything is financially and notarized secured with us, I will post drafts here first and am already very much looking forward to the diverse comments and feedback. Why not use the swarm intelligence when it is even offered free of charge.
