Of course, I can understand that. But it only makes sense if you belong to the crowd.

These reasons only show me that you are completely fixed on your plan and see only an additional hallway as an alternative to another design. That is of course complete nonsense.

Aside from that: If you have to sell your house, every cent counts. Let’s just hope it doesn’t come to that.

Who says that a hallway was ever the only alternative?

We have a 60% financing for everything (land, civil engineering, ancillary construction costs, house, landscaping work, etc.). If we ever can't pay the installments anymore, the bank will definitely get its money and whether we then have more or less left over doesn’t matter to me at all... but probably nobody here can imagine that either. I have already lived on so little in my life and that was not the worst time.

Maybe it’s not me who is completely stuck.

I just don’t know if this won’t be too exhausting for me in the long run. We’ll see.

"Think outside the box," says the American. Unfortunately, this essential ability seems to have eluded you in your difficult life situation. You will be robbing yourself of many opportunities with this, nonetheless, all the best.

It should actually be enough, especially after Anolca’s statements, that the floor plans do not need to be completely adjusted. Also, there are many topics here that, for example, I also strongly support ... living separate from cooking/eating, cooking/eating by the terrace, etc. ... I would be interested in your concrete kitchen planning .. as I currently suspect, the window front could perhaps be divided somewhat more practically. But I could be mistaken. I would also rather have the guest bathroom accessible from the hallway ... maybe a somewhat different place for the cats’ food etc. could be found. However, without major changes, a wardrobe would then really not be possible. Will the cat access to the bathroom then be realized with a cat flap? Because an open bathroom door is also not a good move? Should the cats become "outdoor cats"? Then one possibility would be to use the access door from the carport with a cat flap for a litter box and integrate cat food into the kitchen. However, then you would also need a cat flap so the cats can freely roam back and forth.

We are by no means in a difficult life situation. But why shouldn't one be allowed to have different preferences, ideas, etc. without being considered narrow-minded, unplanned, and the like?
