We are open to suggestions. But we haven't had a really clear idea yet.

The garage party will 99% never happen. It is a reminder of student days, where with little money but a lot of alcohol and hormones, people partied together all night long with many others.

Those times are over. The children have to go to bed early, some friends don’t come at all because they live too far away or because the children are sick, etc. In the end, there remain guest numbers that can normally be accommodated in the house (standing party). And for the milestone birthdays every 10 years, people go to a pub where the distant relatives can sleep right away. Children’s birthdays are held in the party tent.

I am not one of the creative implementers here. There are better ones than me. But just a few thoughts as an example. The exterior of the house, when I look at it on the graphics... if it were a bit longer, it would look like a semi-detached house from the 90s. As I said, it might also be due to the graphics. And of course, personal taste. If the budget allows, setbacks or projections can loosen up or make such a picture more modern. Don't get me wrong, I like compact simple building forms. To make them look modern, I think the overall appearance has to fit. That also works with a gable roof. There are different stylistic devices. Short eaves. For example, I don't like it when the rafters are visible. Dark roof tiles. Why not a facade color going into gray or clay? How about a seating window? You are hardly visible from the south garden, right? I also don't really like the stairs. You almost stumble going up when you enter the door. I think with your space I would take a landing staircase. Move the guest WC into the utility room and have a landing staircase there with a nice entrance area and a built-in wardrobe there. Of course, that would mess up the floor plan upstairs. As I said, there are more capable people here than me. But with the sqm, a walk-in closet should fit (unless you don't want that). You have a 20 sqm bedroom, you could waltz there. That would be too uncomfortable for me. I would definitely not put the shower on the knee wall. If you possibly want a rain shower and are 1.90 tall and the 30 cm shower head hangs 15 cm over you... believe me, you can skip the rain shower. Don't know if there is anything in there for you. In the end, it has to please you. Maybe asked the other way around. In the questionnaire, there is a question about what you particularly like. You left that open. I think if you have the chance to realize such a project in terms of budget and space, then you should come up with three highlights in your design that you particularly like. One always wanted a walk-in closet, another finds a straight staircase a highlight, as mentioned a seating window, a large glazed front, clever layout with direct access to the bathroom from the bedroom. What is it for you?

Was there nothing in the model homes that you would like? Nothing special? All the same?

We will clarify that a bit more this evening. You are right that we should sharpen this a bit more here.

Good question, yes, but who besides yourselves should be able to answer it? - someone must have brought up the knee wall height at some point. Besides, the house seems to me stylistically to fit better in BY than in BW - I would even specifically say, most likely in the Allgäu. Take a look here at the houses by (to my knowledge unfortunately only in the house pictures thread, not also with floor plans) or by as examples; in the latter, the mother-in-law extension with regard to the garage could inspire how to compose the building structures. I don’t think much of model house exhibitions and collections of example pictures – you pick up a lot of nonsense there (and with smaller plots than yours, also many ideas that you cannot implement). If you lack ideas, I recommend drawing known apartments (your current actual apartment, a former own apartment, or the parental home) and "checking off" where you have actually bumped into edges or where you felt there was too little impression of spaciousness. Especially with windows (and kitchen furniture), those you actually have and a tape measure help best in finding the truth.
