But the chimney would be omitted in variant 2, or where would you place it?
We removed the chimney when we switched to underfloor heating because then we have radiant heat.
In the questionnaire, there’s a question about what you particularly like. You left it open. I think if you have the chance to realize such a project in terms of budget and space, then three highlights should come to mind in your design that you particularly like.
One person always wanted a walk-in closet, another finds a straight staircase a highlight, as mentioned a window seat, a large glazed front, clever layout with direct access to the bathroom from the bedroom.
What is it for you?
So, we actually excluded a walk-in closet from the beginning because we don’t really like it and haven’t quite discovered the purpose. Regarding the staircase shape, we find both a half-landing staircase (like the one used in the floor plan by ) very cool and easy to walk. However, we also find the quarter-turn staircase as it currently is very nice, as it visually makes the hallway appear larger and also acts as a “design element.” We attached two pictures. In one, we find the wood paneling quite chic (but I think we are too pragmatic -> maintenance effort over the years to actually realize it) (Source: Weberhaus). We find the brick-clad garage (Source: Viebrockhaus) very nice, but we deliberately decided on the classic roof overhangs because we just don’t really like the short ones. Regarding colors, we’d go for gray bricks and gray windows; that is just wrong in the current external view.
many thanks for your efforts. You would then let the garage start after the front door and cover the whole thing a bit more, or where would you place the garage attached to the house? Of course, you are absolutely right that the passageway is a space eater. One idea we had based on your floor plan I attached as a sketch. Maybe that would also be an option. It would also have the advantage that one could separate the upper and lower floors well in old age. But it could cause problems upstairs, as presumably much more hallway space would be needed there.
As said, many thanks to you all for the suggestions and ideas as well as the critical remarks! We wish you a nice weekend.
