: Wow, thank you very much for the effort! That indeed looks much more straightforward, I like it a lot. I also tried to put something together in that form last night, but kept failing....

I personally don’t think the location of the kitchen is bad at all, but I would also include a (glass) door from the hallway into the living room.

No, no customers come there. And only the (probably) few overnight guests as visitors. So the location of the room in the house is not that important to us. In contrast to the short way from the front door to the pantry/kitchen...

Yes, that also bothered me about the original design. Maybe you can just “mirror” the layout upstairs, e.g., with RomeoZwo’s floor plan putting the bedroom, dressing room, and master bath to the top of the plan and the children’s rooms below? Then the children’s bathroom would be directly next to the bedroom and the balcony would only be accessible from the children’s room...

True, we will also include that in the planning. In what way do you think the parking space in front is impractical? I don’t really see many options where the second parking space could otherwise be placed (currently we only have one car and no need).

For my first attempt, I initially straightened your existing room layout a bit, placing windows and doors only where it was necessary to try things out. Regarding the arrangement on the plot, one could also experiment with an entrance on the northeast side, i.e., on the narrow side of the house. I believe this offers more possibilities regarding the parking space but makes the floor plan somewhat more complicated or the hallways longer again.
However, I have an idea that is similar to our current house, just a bit longer and narrower, and eliminates the disadvantages I have recognized so far in our house.

Would a double carport / garage be a wish or completely unnecessary?

For the office, I would see the option of placing the kitchen in the current office’s location, then the dining area with a double glass door leading to the stairs, and the living area in the south corner. In the southwest, then the office, possibly also with a double sliding door so that it can be opened to let the evening light of the western sun into the living room; of course, this depends on whether the office is meant to have more of an office or library character when it comes to furnishing.

Of course I wouldn’t say no if you want to share the idea with me. We are not fixed on an entrance on the long side of the house, but in my pitifully failed attempts I also found that having the entrance on the narrow side tends to be (even) more complicated.

What does completely unnecessary mean? You never know if you might need a second car in a few years, then of course it’s better not to find out then that parking one behind the other is impractical.
However, I don’t know where to put it on the rather narrow plot (with a house width of 9.10m there remains at most 3.90m until the neighbor...).

Hm, then kitchen, dining room, and living room would be in a line. We don’t like that so much; we would prefer it a bit “around the corner” so that you don’t always look into the (messy) kitchen from the sofa...

Please stick to the original font size... everything else is very hard to read.

Sorry, I didn’t change anything on purpose – and my posts also appear in the same font size (according to the tool I have font size 15) as yours and the other users’? What is the standard, then I’ll adjust it manually again?

What you are doing, no idea. Probably you write in advance and copy it in here? At least your font and font size change, as you can see yourself. The fact is: the smaller, the harder to read.
