Regarding the arrangement on the plot, one could also experiment with an entrance on the northeast side, i.e., on the narrow side of the house. I believe this offers more possibilities regarding the parking space but makes the floor plan somewhat more complicated or the hallways longer again.
However, I have an idea that is similar to our current house, just a bit longer and narrower, and eliminates the disadvantages I have recognized so far in our house.

What does completely unnecessary mean? You never know if you might need a second car in a few years, then of course it’s better not to find out then that parking one behind the other is impractical.
