No, certainly not, but you can create a cozy bedroom or also a living bathroom. Both are just as nice, depending on what someone likes. When bathing, it is often dark, but that also depends on the individual.
Yes - you should pay close attention to establishing YOUR priorities, whether someone understands that is irrelevant. Still (frequent personal experience) sometimes one is too focused and has a parade idea (glass of champagne in the bathtub, sunset at such and such place, or my friends said...) and sacrifices other things for it.
It is worth being very honest with yourself and finding out what really fits. Then implement that consistently. But really think about every idea with an open mind, no matter how silly it sounds. You don’t have to do any of it, but thinking/feeling can help to clarify your own dream thoughts sometimes.

Yes, that’s true, we are trying to put our wishes on paper without driving the architect of the building shell crazy. But at least we are now at a version that already creates a certain "warmth." My main problems right now are the hallway, which practically has no space for shoes, jackets, etc. Everything else is "details."

Of course, I can sacrifice the garage width, but I fear that on the left side we will have to take more distance from the neighbor than drawn, so we currently only have a theoretical 3.80 m. That will more likely be 3.40 m.

Yes, as I said, I don’t want to have to share a wall with the children's room and find the view from the tub more sensible than from the bedroom. But I fear that the covered terrace on the ground floor will prevent the bathroom on that side. Then perhaps one would have to work with a thicker wall for soundproofing towards the children's room.

Especially when you can buy your breakfast with more than just Hartz IV, it’s nice to linger in bed after waking up; with or without stock ticker. You can even watch Formula 1 there, or tennis.

I would mourn the bathroom/bedroom swap less than the current hallway situation. You walk in now and have only doors/stairs, no space for shoes, or doormat, etc.

Bathroom-bedroom swap makes me think of pipe runs, I don't make the mental leap to the hallway that quickly (???)

Hello Murmelstein,

we also have a slightly trapezoidal plot and have a custom-made trapezoidal garage built with a timber frame. It was not more expensive than a prefabricated garage and makes optimal use of the space.

Why don't you move the garage up to the boundary (this dirt strip is not allowed anyway?) and set the house back less. Then you will get significantly more space in the kitchen and dining room. The living room will be a bit smaller, but you can furnish it differently (better). You don’t want to sit next to the fireplace, but you want to be able to see it.

And regarding your floor problem: Make the storage room a spacious cloakroom. You have a huge basement and a large kitchen! I would possibly also omit the passage to the garage. You can still get into the house with dry feet.

Upstairs, move the stairs to the other side, next to child 3 and the children’s bathroom. The exit will then be on the right. Then the alignment fits.
