Does that mean she served you as draftsmen? That is exactly the wrong way. She studied and should deliver her professional work. Many roads lead to Rome. One should show flexibility. Different can also be good. If you had offered a bit of site plan, building envelope, and neighborhood in your initial question, you might be further along now. Go to your architect and tell her the wish for a cloakroom and a WC with a window. Personally, in your place, I would take the design on page 5, use that sluice, which nobody needs, for the cloakroom and set up the living room properly. Also consider turning the staircase so that you can store something in the basement via a short route. The only thing that really bothers here and that nobody needs is this mini sluice.

You are definitely not. What is shown are more like draft drawings, with dimensioned walls etcetera. By then, it is already too late for a paradigm shift regarding stairs and a wrecking ball does less damage than a file. Of course, only if the preliminary design phase is not skipped again. The forum management apparently did not recognize Katja’s importance as a "Key User," resulting in a gap. Whether can/wants/will fill it, I don’t know yet. Kerstin and Yvonne are still around, but I don’t see it as entirely dispensable that the contract architect applies her skills. But only if the travelers don’t already have an empty GPS battery shortly after Frankfurt :-(

I don’t think that you are the problem, because you want to build and have to pay and you want a service that meets your wishes. That also includes proper planning/design. You can only name wishes and preferences, and the architect MUST absolutely contribute her knowledge and experience with regard to your wishes. That’s her job! If you have found a construction company that suits you, you should definitely stay with them, I totally understand that! The architect should mainly think about details like a landing staircase etc.; she can and knows that! Your heart does not necessarily have to be tied to a landing staircase but rather to a smart functional and layout planning. 100% restraint must stop, ask her directly how she can implement your preferences. SHE especially must become active. An independent architect alone is not the solution to all problems either and you can have luck and bad luck with that as well; you don’t necessarily need an artist for that. Maybe you also find one or two additional floor plans on the internet that you like and she then just has to “adapt” them. That is why also apply the hint from with further views and information for the forum. There are ALWAYS at least 5 people in the house plus offices or guests. I would plan at least 1 shower/WC per floor, that is not a luxury. Don’t worry about the upper floor; there are a thousand possibilities to create nice or even nicer living space there; just let go of the current one again!

So?

You highlight the part you want to quote, click on quote, and write your comment in the text field.

Then you highlight the next part and add again...

...but sometimes it's best to leave some things uncommented and let them speak for themselves
