Very nice and congratulations on the location. Does the folding door lead to your balcony?

Two applications are often overlooked: folding systems and classic double doors (then however D/D instead of DK/D) opening outwards. Sliding doors do not actually offer a large opening, as the halves block each other.

It is a mix of balcony and terrace across the entire width of the house with access on both sides. The house is rather unusual, located on a steep slope and partly built into the rock, partly out of the hillside. The window in the previous photo is the second from the left. The photo was taken with phone zoom towards the next opposite point of the same height. That explains why we do not value privacy screening.

Ok, thanks. That wouldn’t work for us. The house is almost completely open inside and we have the whole potpourri of flies simply everywhere. Plus wasps and mosquitoes and beetles. Moths in the evening. That wasn’t on any of our lists either, until it turned out to be an immediate disturbance. It was just too much.

It is probably not about the question of the sensibility of sliding doors, but about that of lift-and-slide doors. I find it very likeable when someone only has a nice-to-have wish, while others here list lift-and-slide doors, pantry with hidden door, airlock door, interior sliding door, seating window, fireplace, illuminated wardrobes, open galleries, air spaces, etc. How can one get so worked up about a heartfelt wish?

Well, I have one more:

Carport as you suggested with a 1m roof overhang towards the street.
