Yes, the banks are cooperating. We have already inquired about that. The plot is fully self-financed, and for the house construction, we have about 45% equity (both semi-detached houses).
We will certainly go out a few more times, maybe we’ll manage to catch some neighbors to find out a bit more. What still worries me is the question of what dangers exist for us in a mixed-use area? Regarding noise & co. Directly opposite the house is a small vintage car workshop, really nothing big, practically just a garage. But engine tests and such – those are naturally still annoying. The plot is located near Bahnhofsstraße in Hoisdorf (there is no longer a station), in case anyone wants to take another look and provide an assessment.
Slowly things are calming down. At the beginning, we were all quite jumpy and felt that we had to have everything (plot purchase, general contractor contract, etc.) settled within a week. We would be very disappointed if the plot is gone, but I’m beginning to think that it must be for the best if it doesn’t work out after all. Even though the regret would definitely outweigh at first. Thanks to your objections, we have something more in our heads than just “WE HAVE TO BUY THIS IMMEDIATELY!” Even if the many critical questions initially overwhelmed me :D
: Actually, we are looking towards Hamburg North, or the district of Stormarn. Or towards Wedel. Although Pinneberg is an absolute must... What we like about the said plot, for example, is that the subway connection is in the neighboring town. We can get there by bike in 10-15 minutes and then get on well from there. Yes, it takes time. Certainly longer than from Buchholz or similar by train. But I was raised with the saying “Life south of the Elbe is not the same,” and I can’t seem to let go of the feeling that I don’t feel at home on the other side of the Elbe anymore. We just don’t warm up to the area around Rosengarten or Seevetal. Especially my parents don’t, who are simply North Hamburgers and have a say in a thing or two.
