lol In my experience, monument authorities don’t work like that. Ignorant people who want to push their modern plans through by force cannot do that at all. You are also not in the negotiating position for that. I would rather plan so that it looks maximally in conformity with the monument and consider one or two really essential points for a well-founded deviation. Otherwise, they will play hardball very quickly and it will become unpleasant and expensive.

We do not want to make maximum demands either. The contact with the heritage conservation office is relatively direct. The seller is a former district monument conservator (now state monument conservator) and is pleased that the building is to be meaningfully and more extensively used. His successor is a friend of his. Therefore, we also know that the expansion itself is not a problem and that above all the street view should be preserved. Toward the courtyard, we are free regarding window openings, but the apartment does not have an exterior wall there. On the side, there is some leeway. We will discuss that in January. The architect will probably also be a former colleague from heritage conservation. However, this is not yet certain, because someone still has to tick the box for the building energy law calculation and the applications for the KfW, which would be nice to have from one source. I find Katja’s design appealing even without the wide sliding fronts, and plenty of light also comes into the apartment this way.

I have adjusted the draft from so that there are few points of attack for monument protection. The mandatory points of the supports have also been taken into account.

me too, and even wrote 30 characters.

The draft has great advantages for the MEP planning. Exhaust air kitchen, bathroom, guest bathroom, utility kitchen all on one line and also water/sewage would have short routes. Only the dryer and the dishwasher, which I no longer saw in the bathroom, would have a longer route, but that is just a cold water line and a 50mm pipe.

Doesn't matter. Still a pity, because you can't really notice the elongated part from the inside. Monument protection is particularly sensitive in the private sector when it comes to the outside. It is often "only" about preserving the exterior appearance, i.e. maintaining the special architecture in harmony with culture. Since the north side can be seen from the street, I cannot imagine breaking or opening the windows and facade.

The supports, at least one of which is located in the bedroom, have a distance of 2.80 from the right-hand wall according to the plan. If there is a bed there, as you have arranged it, I see a small problem. You can certainly live with it, but with a disability it is difficult to get to the window side.
That is why I also asked how it is with the bed. There are people who could also imagine a bed against the wall.
