It does work, we are still wavering between restoring the old forged steel windows on the outside and equipping them with opening options and continuous secondary windows on the inside or replacing them with new finely articulated aluminum windows with corresponding muntin bar optics, e.g. from Jansen. Both will be expensive – probably the most expensive item in the construction sum. What do the monument preservationists say about the windows? As planned, it probably won’t work?
Besides, I would play with and shift the sliding door, i.e. the access to the living area. Ideally, the desk should be near the window.
I would see it that way, too, but the large 1.95m wardrobe is a memento of the old house, etc. and must definitely come along. If the bedroom access were from the hallway, you could rotate the wardrobe/dresser in the dining area by 90 degrees and place it against the other wall. That would also harmonize better with the sliding door setup.
True, I have changed that. They are now two 60-cm wardrobes with a 1.05 m gap. More would make it tight with the bed.I would make sure that the dressing area between the two 60-cm wardrobes (even the best dressers need this depth) has at least one meter, better 1.20 meters, in between. Ideally, behind the door there should be a 70 cm space for a wardrobe. Now you would run into (these are not 60-cm wardrobes, are they?) a side panel. Maybe the door could be made from the hallway area. That would also have the advantage that the dressing area could also be used for jackets and street shoes.
Me neither. With the back to the window? Instead of being able to look outside, you prefer to look at the wall? I will never understand why anyone wants to do that.
It’s north-northwest – the backlight is limited. To avoid having to watch TV against backlight and/or to be able to read in incoming daylight.
The goal is that the future resident does not sit at home alone enduring Musikantenstadl, the 24th revival of Wetten, dass..? or the miserable drivel of Anne Will and the like. There is already green to see outside (once the outdoor area there is finished – before that, she has to deal with landscaping it).Because there is nothing to see outside. The elderly lady might also want to watch TV sometimes.
