Hello everyone,

there is another offer update for our single-family house. I would like to ask for your support in evaluating this offer. The instruction to the solar installer was to fully cover the roof and to do without the storage:

•Q-Cells Q-Peak ML G10 410 W
•25 modules south & 25 modules north at 20.50 kWp

The whole thing should cost 32,000 € including installation and commissioning, so 1560 € net per kWp. That is quite normal for today - neither cheap nor expensive, right?

Attached are the offer details and the roof layout. On the south side, he will lay the modules on the roof (25° roof pitch) and on the north side slightly elevated (21°).

Cheers!

We got the G8+ with 340 W per module (13.26 kWp, completely black including frame and power optimizers) for €1,100 net. However, the offer is from August 2021. I find €1,560 almost borderline, especially for that size.

Okay, thanks for your feedback! I also find it expensive, but there's nothing we can do... I will definitely try to negotiate. But 1,500 € net is unfortunately what you have to expect at the moment, right?

Even if it’s difficult, have you perhaps inquired with other local providers? If you are near Berlin, I could recommend one.

Yes, it is not easy :-) I have asked several others from the region. One has no capacity to install but offered me the technology (approx. €1100 / kWp). But I actually want a complete package. I am still waiting for a third offer, I still have hope... Otherwise, several companies simply declined or told me to inquire next year.

do you have to? I can’t fully assess the current situation, which also varies regionally. I already found my system ordered two years ago per kWp "too expensive." But especially a simple gable roof with a relatively large system only has one-time "upfront costs." My opinion is: outrageous. But no matter when the system pays off, I would probably do it anyway (I had once mentioned some serious forecasts predicting 50-55 cents per kWh). And then this photovoltaic system, if not already ecological, also looks different economically.
