Photovoltaic system offer for our single-family house

People who know their stuff recommend avoiding solar thermal at least or sometimes even dismantling it to make room for photovoltaics ;) So here, it's less about supporting the air-water heat pump and more about supporting one's wallet :)

However, earning money is less about "ripping off customers" ;) At the same time, I don't want to accuse your solar installer of anything, he might just not know any better :D

Regarding current prices, I can also contribute something – I participated in a collective tender of a local (=Erlangen-Bamberg area) solar citizens' association. They inquired for about 40 builders and tried to negotiate group discounts.

The response came today:

Of the originally 33 companies we contacted or who reached out to us, initially eight companies registered to participate in the collective tender. They accordingly received the tender documents from us.

Three of the eight companies submitted prices or price indications. The other five companies no longer saw themselves in a position to provide feedback in the meantime. Among them was, among others, the local company xx Solar.

Only the company xy from zz, active in the northern Bavarian region, submitted a complete offer.
The nationwide company "ZXY GmbH" from ABC at least submitted four sample offers for photovoltaic systems in different performance classes, but with price validity only until May 5, 2022. The regionally active company I**** from W***** sent us only two non-binding orientation offers and pointed out that they are already fully booked for the next 12 months.

Only the company ZZZ granted a discount scale.

Specifically, it looks like this:
Company 1 (local)
9.9 kWp for 15,600 net plus scaffolding (only available up to 3m ridge in the offer)
7,400 (whether gross or net is not clear to me here) for 10 kWh storage as an option

Company 2 (supra-regional)
9.4 kWp for 16,300 net, offer looks complete.
29.9 kWp for 36,500 net. ditto.

I think that the intended advantage of a collective tender rather becomes a disadvantage here, as many smaller providers are directly excluded as a result. Smaller ones cannot even deliver the full scope of services, larger ones include larger margins, risks, and operating costs in their calculations, resulting in such unattractive offers.
In contrast, the small local solar installer can possibly act much cheaper, more flexibly, faster, and even competently.
Personally, I consider such a tender to be of little to no significance with regard to price development and the market situation as such.

29.9 kWp for 36,500 net.

That's 1200,- per kWp. That's quite good at the moment. I would buy! This example also nicely shows how it gets cheaper as it gets bigger. The 10 kWp system is at 1700,- €.

You have to know what you want, for me that would be much bigger….. but I am more interested in self-sufficiency and for that a storage is simply better…. no desire to clutter the whole roof….
