My system has already been fully assembled and is operational, but unfortunately I am still missing my house connection... hopefully that will be done within the next 4 weeks.

I am also still calculating, KUR would cost me about 400-500€ more in total over the first five years. But I am still considering whether I just don’t care and will do the KUR anyway.

The payback period is around the 11th year. I paid just under 1100€ net per kWp for a total of 9.4 kWp.

We just did KUR.. you lose a few euros there, but you don't have to take care of anything.

that is also my consideration.

So for me, it’s only just starting now since the first invoice for the photovoltaic system came in January. But as far as I know, it takes about 5 minutes of effort each month (except maybe the first time) and only for the first 1 to 2 years, and then an annual VAT declaration for the first 5 years.

For that, I get €4503 in VAT back and pay an estimated €800 VAT on self-consumption over the first 5 years. So it’s definitely worth it (for me). With smaller systems, the worthwhile amount might be a bit lower, but it should generally still be worthwhile there too.

But if you want, you can also just give the money to the tax office and avoid the effort.

Cheers Specki

I believe it was around €1000 that we "lost" over 5 years compared to switching. The effort for standard taxation is also manageable, but the tax advisor wanted €300/year and we didn’t feel like dealing with it. With KUR, you submit the billing from the network operator and compare the income and expenses (depreciation, maintenance, servicing...) in a small Excel table, which takes just a few minutes. In the first year, you make a loss and even get a tax advantage; if then the photovoltaic system is recognized as "hobby activity," you don’t have to submit anything anymore – however, I am still waiting for a response from the tax office, let’s see if it works out.

for large systems with a low equity share, the calculation looks a bit different, in that case the KUR makes less sense.

Try the following and feed it with your data.

=((0.2504+154.8/7500)*2800*5+10500*42%-10500)*19%

This results in an advantage of slightly more than €400 compared to the KUR.

The calculation is from another forum that deals with photovoltaic systems. Hust Hust.
