The answer is simple. Just don't use Alexa and the like in a smart home. The smart light switches, presence detectors, actuators, and other sensors, as well as voice controls, also work wonderfully offline.

Attention, nothing really exciting ;)

After the individual parts of the video door intercom system had been lying around in our workshop for many weeks, I finally asked my apprentice yesterday to take care of it.

By the way, the part is really heavy, more than 5mm solid aluminum. I’m positively surprised by the good workmanship.

After "only" 3 hours and a phone call to the hotline, which was able to compensate for an error in the installation manual (or rather the absence of an important piece of information), the system finally worked. Great picture quality, even in the dark. The sound quality is a little bit "tinny" but still understandable. The visible gap will be filled with an already ordered RFID module, and I also ordered a few tokens in various colorful shades (but from elsewhere: www something with access control ...) Also a stylish silicone wristband with a token. In total seven "keys" for exactly €14.64 including shipping

The indoor unit is a 7 or 10" touch TFT (not shown in the picture)

The fingerprint reader works really well, but I already have the problem with my phone that the fingers of my right hand do not work well—no idea why? "Left" fingers work perfectly.

The potential-free door contact can be easily switched via the intermediate path of our smart home system. Currently, my brother has found some time to deal with the documentation and the new version 3 of OpenHAB including the integrated MQTT broker.

In the meantime, I have procured 80 LSA separating strips from Krone + labeling fields for the patch wiring in all 4 residential units.
Unfortunately, since these do not fit onto the standard mounting trays or round pipes (they are only 92mm wide instead of 105mm), I also ordered suitable bent U-profiles made of aluminum online, which I will then saw to the required length (depending on the required number of LSA strips (+ spare)). I will attach the U-profiles to slightly adapted Hager media panels, which can then be mounted prepared like this in the distribution board. We will probably have to switch to the somewhat wider 1050mm wide version here. Otherwise, it will probably be too tight / cramped.
With the next pictures, the whole thing will become clearer... but these will only come in a few weeks :p

Why no Ekey?

relatively simple answer ;)

We are, among other things, dealers for surveillance cameras from this importer (mainly Dahua components...)
I wanted to build some internal experience regarding these components. It's IP and POE and modular after all.
So it fits into our "environment." Additionally, the dealer's equity for the entire system including the indoor unit is only about 560 (net)
I think that is a very fair price compared to other providers with similar equipment.

The usefulness for my small 60m² apartment is very questionable anyway

It’s also about testing possibilities and, of course, satisfying the male play instinct :p

I actually (hopefully) don’t want to use fingerprint or the key.
Either RFID via the token or bracelet. Or semi-automated via cellphone.

I do not see the point of remote unlocking the front door.

Firstly, I consider it a security risk, secondly, I find no reasonable reason for it when there are other, much more convenient solutions like fingerprint or RFID, instead of unlocking it with the phone. If I am not at home, I don’t have to let anyone in.

At least that is my opinion as someone with KNX, so someone who is into such stuff... ;) We have Ekey installed and use it very much. There is also a door contact installed on the door to at least capture the status with the bus. Otherwise, the system works autonomously.

Me neither (yet) Everyone who is allowed in either receives a small key fob (RFID token) or their fingerprint is registered. This system (of my residential unit) is also about integrating as many different options as possible (PM + motion detector, CO2, indoor/outdoor temperature, light, window/door contacts, water detector (for utility room), weather station, interfaces to photovoltaics, cistern, BikePort, visualization ... because the system will be a prototype. Therefore, some things will certainly be installed here that I will not actively use. Solely to test the integration / binding. Most are connected by cable, the rest (also for testing purposes) by radio to make "the system" attractive as an upgrade solution.
