Yes, that's true about the pairing, but since there are only two of us, re-pairing is done quickly. But as has already been said here, how often do you have to pair? For that, no elaborate installation in the fuse box is needed because everything is inside the door. Everything has its pros and cons. However, it's a great thing never to have to carry keys around outside anymore; if you don't have it with you, you can't lose it. I wouldn't want to do without it anymore. We have power outages more often, but it's worse with the automatic garage door. Ours cannot be opened manually. And recently my husband had to go to work, but the door wouldn't open... Fortunately, our other garage door with the electric vehicle doesn't have an automatic lock, and he was able to drive to work with it. With the front door, it's rather unproblematic since someone is usually at home, and during the day I usually keep the balcony door unlocked anyway (yes, I constantly get in trouble for that).

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask about your practical experiences.

I have an MFV GU-SECURY SH2 with 2 locking bolts. I want to replace this with a GU-SECURY Automatic TE with A-Opener.

1. Locking: When the door closes, do the two latch bolts automatically extend, including the one in the main lock?

2. Opening: From the inside, pressing the handle once down to open? From the outside, with the key, how many turns?

3. The daytime function: Can the daytime function be activated via the A-Opener, meaning an additional contact that I can control with my home automation?

Thank you very much.

1. No, only the top/bottom

2. from the inside over the handle only if it has not been locked with a key (anti-panic function) from the outside if it has been locked with a key then it is as usual 1.5 turns and it is open

if locked without a key it works electrically with the A-opener from inside and outside

3. I can't say anything about that... what kind of control system do you have in the house?

1. As mentioned by Mycraft, with the GU Secury Automatic TE, only the upper and lower latch bolts automatically lock. The bolt in the main lock is usually not engaged. It is mainly used during vacation absence or as a child safety lock. Nevertheless, the lock has a VdS certification.

2. If the door was only closed and thus only the upper and lower latch bolts are locked, about 1/3 turn of the key is enough to open the door.

According to the homepage, Gratuliere installs Ekey systems! Therefore, their reliability should not differ, right?! Best regards, Andreas

Yes and no - at least that's what I understood when we were making the selection.

The scanner is from eKey, but the operation is somewhat different (angle, control module). In addition, it is said not to be tamper-proof, meaning if you pull out the scanner, you can simply connect two cables and get in.

This is not possible with original ekey - though I don't know if that's still the case.

Furthermore, GIRA always charges a hefty surcharge on its products.
