brief interim status:

Purchased so far: 15x Controllino Max + 30x Relays 6A + 5x Rademacher multiple control relays 2751 (for 2 roller shutters each). 1xOccy Mini Design PM. Hundreds of meters of control wire/braid. Thousands of ferrules. Three different wire strippers until I was satisfied with the result on CAT7A cables. Matching crimping pliers. Proper woodworking tools for the corresponding holes in the ceilings. Approximately 2m² occupied in the workshop due to storage of components and accessories. Two desks each full with one prototype.

We then decided to install at least two Controllinos (Controllino max) per residential unit (instead of one Mega) so that you are not completely in the dark if one should fail. So also at least 2 power supplies. Additional standard power supplies (DIN rail / 24V) will be kept in stock as replacements. Higher loads are generally not switched, if needed (outlet with "high" consumption) then via separate relays. Roller shutters presumably via special multi-relays or several individual relays. This is currently still under testing.

We (I ) have to install about 100 DAs per residential unit (there are small differences) for patch cabling. Outgoing to the "SmartHome department" is of course significantly less. In total, we have 48TE per residential unit available in the distribution board for patch cabling and SmartHome components. Plus 24TE which can be installed concealed with low installation height. This requires a high packing density of the patch cabling. I had already described earlier how this will be implemented.

The basic programming "Light" on/off is done including a suitable GUI. Programming "Dimming" + "Colors" = light scenes + "Control of roller shutters" is in progress.

Since we are all currently extremely busy professionally (what luck!) it may happen that some (optional) components / sensors will only be integrated later in the "actively inhabited phase."

Lost track... is this now a bus topology or a real (cumbersome) star like Loxone/PLC?

//Edit: Is it actually possible that sometimes when clicking on Edit for the first time, a new browser window with ads opens, or am I recently constantly slipping with the mouse?

I am also soon losing track. How good that we label everything immediately or promptly :p

The chosen star topology makes a lot of sense to me/us. Even if the cabling effort may be higher than with a typical bus.

Our cable trays were also once documented in words and pictures in the unfortunately disappeared thread.

I will make a small & rough cost breakdown (infrastructure, hardware) at some point. Obviously, not everyone can use this as a reference since we have different purchasing conditions than a private end customer, but also because we do most of the drywall and electrical work ourselves.

Attached is a picture showing the current status of the wiring in my upper floor. Only a few cables for PM and ceiling lamps are still missing. I'm starting to get a little worried if everything will really fit into the cabinet? Although some LAN cables will be locked up in a separate (probably 4 or 6U) 19" cabinet above the electrical distribution board.

It depends on the UV. But as it looks, you don't have much space. In case of emergency, there are also floor cabinets. If I were you, I would also outsource the network cabling to a small 6U cabinet above. I solved it similarly, except that in my case the washing machine/dryer is below the network distribution.
