Number of network sockets; how to plan Wi-Fi in the new building?

Thanks for that!

Anyone who thinks they can solve everything with Wi-Fi in a modern house with current media equipment simply has no idea. If you are electronically abstinent, of course it works, but with some demands, Wi-Fi quickly reaches its limits.

Very cool! XD But then the Wi-Fi family just has to have a joint (board) game night, that’s also something nice!

That works, but not every evening, that also gets boring. Which brings us back to structured network cabling.

Nowadays simply a matter of necessity.

In my opinion, a LAN connection should be provided for stationary devices (TV, gaming PC, Apple-TV) so that enough bandwidth remains for devices that absolutely have to connect via WLAN (iPad, mobile phone).

Also, an addendum on the topic of music streaming specifically with Sonos: If one of the Sonos products is connected via LAN cable, SonosNet builds a proprietary WLAN and therefore should not burden the home WLAN. So, not all Sonos speakers need to be connected to LAN, one device is enough.

A few months ago I saw a pretty nice comedy on TV, it was called "we are offline" or something like that. In it, a family went on a diet from being online all the time, and infected their entire neighborhood with it.

The Sonos Wifi mostly causes interference and problems. Therefore, turn it off and simply use LAN. Preferably in its own (V)lan. For IoT devices, this makes sense anyway.
