Number of network sockets; how to plan Wi-Fi in the new building?

OK, it probably won't be as easy as initially thought. I hope I can tell the electrician what I want and that he can manage it. For the moment, at least I know how many outlets I need. In addition to those already planned in the rooms, I will also provide one centrally on the ground floor (utility room is a bit off around the corner) and one centrally on the upper floor. The exact installation or which devices/APs will be used will follow later.

what do you use the 4 LAN ports behind the TV for?

I have one and then a switch if needed. You never stream more than one stream simultaneously to a TV, right? So a 1 GBit connection to the backbone should be enough? Or is it just about avoiding switches (which is a reasonable goal)?

Even though most electricians should know this by now, every double network socket must be connected with 2 cables or a duplex cable. Just a note, so you don’t end up with "cost-saving wiring" in the end.

Access points should be installed as high as possible. I prefer mounting them on the ceiling. If you want to do this, you should already choose the devices beforehand and clarify the cable entry. The access points integrated into the flush-mounted boxes are very inconspicuous, but they also significantly limit your choices. Currently, I would only install ones from Unifi. The antennas of the "saucers" are specifically designed for ceiling mounting. Wall mounting is not optimal but should also work.

When it comes to rooms, you should not forget hobby rooms or possibly the garage. For example, if you like to work on your car and want to quickly watch an installation video, such a network connection can be worth its weight in gold if the normal Wi-Fi signal doesn’t reach.

I try to avoid decentralized switches whenever possible. That is for emergencies when you haven't thought things through enough.

It's not always just LAN; there are also sometimes Cat runs for video and audio. In the case of the four ports behind the TV in "normal" rooms or kitchen and bedroom, it looks like this for me, for example: 1x LAN for the TV, 1x LAN for the room controller (here Control4 EA-1 as ZAP and on-screen menu), 1x Cat for TV audio to feed into the multiroom system, and 1x LAN spare, possibly for an AppleTV.

For the 6 ports in the living room, there are also video inputs for PlayStation/BluRay (to the AVR in the technical room) and an audio input for the turntable (into the multiroom system), as well as two more LAN ports at the PlayStation/BluRay position. The room controller in the living room is omitted because the main controller (Control4 EA-5) is located in the rack in the technical room and sends its picture to the TV over Cat via an AVR. Audio input from the TV into the multiroom system is therefore also omitted because the sources are also in the rack.

where you would probably only confuse the OP. Because that is no longer a usual use but already a real hobby. If the OP wanted to do something like that, he would hardly have asked the way he did here.

A double socket is sufficient for practically all use cases if you can additionally put a simple switch as needed. Then rather another double socket on the opposite wall instead of a four-gang combo in one place....

An opinion was asked for. Of course, this is not a "normal" expansion stage, but if you're already pulling cables, you can also take a bit more. Ten years ago, no one could have imagined what you want to do with LAN at the TV.
