Number of network sockets; how to plan Wi-Fi in the new building?

Why? That’s exactly my setup with a Nano HD and a Netgear PoE switch!
PoE because I don’t want 10 surface-mounted sockets for router, bridges, SAT distribution unit, fiber modem, 2x APs, and other devices all in one place.

The extra cost for a PoE switch is almost made up again with 6-8 surface-mounted sockets plus cabling (besides, good quality Ethernet cables don’t grow on trees to equip the injectors) and it looks tidier!

The developer’s name isn’t by any chance W....b...? The prices seem familiar to me. Unfortunately, during the selection phase we only thought about the expensive LAN sockets. I actually didn’t consider that with the house connection in the basement, the Wi-Fi wouldn’t reach all floors (the selection phase had to be very quick and no changes are possible afterward). So thanks for all the tips here, now we just have to make the best of it.

Yes, that is correct. The pressure not to forget anything here is quite intense at this point... for that the forum here is fantastic. There is a dedicated thread here for the mentioned developer – maybe you’d like to share some of your experiences there. Private messages apparently only work in this forum after 100 posts.

But enough off-topic:

I will probably plan for 2 empty conduits directly in the stairwell, on the ground floor and the top floor. I just have to decide whether preferably ceiling or wall... and then maybe talk to the electrician later to see if he can install CAT7 right away, otherwise there is only hope for a good pull string in the empty conduit.

What exact technology will then be installed, I can still decide by next year.

Thanks for the answers!

um, a duplex cable IS two 8-wire network cables, just glued together....

Regarding the aforementioned developer, I can only say that everything must be determined at the one sampling appointment. After that, no changes are possible. Yes, the prices for empty conduits, LAN connections are ambitious. In hindsight, I would bite the bullet and invest a little more. I will soon reach the 100, then I can message you (@Mods: or can a mod also unlock this under 100?)
