We have planned a lamp on the courtyard side, where the garages are also located. Then one on the front side facing the garden (our terrace is 1 m away from the house and has separate lighting). And then recessed spotlights in the roof box on the entrance side (but we have a bungalow). Everything will be switchable from the inside and with motion detectors. We do not like wall lighting.

That's right. The electrician said the same. We are building a bungalow and want to integrate the lights into the roof box. He said to only illuminate one side of the entrance area and terrace, namely the one that is used most frequently.

I would be curious about the reasoning behind that. :)

From the position, these are supposed to be up & down lights, right? On the entrance and terrace side, the position is already okay. I wouldn’t do more than that as "effect lighting". But if you really want shutters on the ground floor, these (lights at the top edge of the window) are of course in the way. You could avoid that by installing the lights 20 cm higher. But beware, then the shutters will be lit from above. Does that look good? On the "sides" of the house, I think effect lights are nonsense and would leave them out entirely. On the side of the carport, an outlet with a motion sensor below the carport roof. Then a bright spotlight can be installed there, shining into the carport (alternatively and better to run an electrical line into the carport and install the lighting directly there).

If you mean me. Then the reasoning is the one that has already been mentioned here. When illuminating, you can see all the unevenness of the wall.

Yes, I meant you. Why should the problem (Streiflicht auf unebenem Putz) be solved by me "wearing" it only on one side? Also, I don’t quite understand what is meant by the side "that is used most frequently." Is it only about damage control? If so, I don’t think that’s good advice, because ultimately lighting is primarily about other aspects.
