Is more than enough for the lighting

I find, among other things, your front door beautiful. We wanted that too, but nowadays it’s no longer standard. Now I hope to replace our front door as soon as possible. We had a door similar to yours before and want one like that again. However, something special again, ;-) we also want such a direct mail slot in the front door (for example made of brass), like we had before. That is really great. The brass mail slot rattles, and bam, your mail is on the floor. :-) That’s just fun. And when the wind blows, the mail slot rattles too, but that’s so nicely nostalgic and cozy; I think. And yes, it does let a little draft into the hallway, but for us the joy always outweighed that.

Mail slot in the door...that immediately gives the general contractor/builder palpitations because of the blower door test. Our mail carrier doesn’t even get to the front door, since the gate is locked.

Yes, that's why we have to do it ourselves. Buy a nice wooden door in the right size and cut a letter slot into it. :) I'm glad you understand me. Those who don't know this can rarely relate. Oh, what beautiful details there were in and on old houses. Gone, gone ... gone with the wind. ;-)

Yes, much more value was placed on details and craftsmanship... wooden window frames, wall stucco, ceiling stucco, beautiful doors, etc. p.p. Today's architectural style is like the clothing taste of the average German: practical and, if possible, cheap... outdoor jacket and hiking shoes/sneakers in the city.

Most houses in the past were plain, very simple, and extremely small
