Just as a note: Effect lighting on the house facade does not help the person sitting there by the wall, i.e. on the terrace. It only helps the person who either wants to walk there or looks at it from the outside. After that, I would install all the lamps.

When I drive through the new development areas here and look at the house lighting, personally, I would wait for the result of my plasterer...
I wouldn't want to accentuate the wave landscapes that are sometimes illuminated there.

It's brutal here as well. But these ugly up/down lamps just seem to be "standard" – if not first the wires have been hanging out of the wall for years until you decide on something sufficiently ugly.

We have bollard lights all around (+ a few plant spotlights) and some above the front door. That’s enough for a nice ambiance :)

It's also a matter of taste. Up-/downlights simply have the characteristic of the grazing light, but that doesn't make them devil's work. By the way, I don't know of any house provider where outdoor lights are standard.

Light to safely get to the house, light on the terraces, as little stray light as possible. It now looks like ego-light in our result. :eek:.

I should probably manage to get the photos of the illuminated Art Nouveau villas and Gründerzeit houses out of my head soon. ;-) Here in Leipzig, fortunately - some mistakes made in the West were not made here - there are wonderful houses that look like something out of a fairy tale when lit up at night. They always overlay themselves like a film over our house. This could turn out to be a serious mistake. ;-) Especially since I have a tendency toward nostalgia and kitsch, which I have been fighting my entire life.

Everything that is not additionally installed does not need to be replaced later.
Path lighting around the house is okay, nothing more is needed.

I equipped the outside stairs with LEDs, house number lighting with integrated entrance lighting, balcony lighting at the back of the house (ground floor), and in the basement 2x corner path lighting, each with "DauerLED-Licht".
Garage driveway LED floodlights.

For a 300 sqm villa, I find this appropriate and stylish, for mini facades "superfluous".
