Newly built single-family house KfW55 standard - How to heat?

I find the recommendation quite clear at the moment. Air-water heat pump or ground-water heat pump and solar. We also have a gas connection, and with a little research, it quickly becomes clear that the cost savings compared to a heat pump are, if anything, very limited and can be calculated in both directions. Choosing gas as a finite energy source in today's time remains a mystery to me in a new building.

I don't know what specifically should speak against an air-to-water heat pump? What is often mentioned / criticized is that the air-to-water heat pump is chosen (or recommended) inappropriately for the house and therefore heats less economically than possible. They are often oversized. But others here surely know more about that than I do. But here are also a few things speaking against gas: - Gas connection costs extra as a house connection (saved us about €2000) - Gas is a potential hazard in the house - Gas is a fossil fuel and like oil – although probably not so short-term – limited in capacity - Unlike electricity, gas cannot be generated from renewable sources. In the currently intensifying climate issue and presumably also climate policy, we assumed that CO2 will be taxed significantly in the future and heating with gas will become more expensive. (Note: This is our speculation. Of course, it could all turn out differently).

Bold claim. And that at a time when the "Power-to-Gas" hype is being driven through the media like rarely before. Regarding land use, one can think whatever they want about biogas plants, but by definition they also process renewable raw materials. During/after World War II, wood gas vehicles were in use in Germany.

Sorry Katia, but you’re writing a lot of wrong things there. Gas will be available for a very long time and then with very high probability can be efficiently produced from renewable energy.

And 2000 for the gas connection is not much the heat pump costs more than the gas boiler with solar. He needs a chimney anyway because of the wood stove.

Okay, I really didn't know there were serious efforts in the direction of biogas. I have accordingly corrected my post. Edit: Unfortunately, I can't correct it anymore. So I correct here: I meant natural gas.

I mentioned the 2000 because many people compare the pure costs against each other. With the 2000 savings and the BAFA subsidy, we ended up with about the same amount for the air-water heat pump including controlled residential ventilation.
