It's like so often with our legislators: the end customer always pays the extra cost. And everything around the house always gets really expensive. I guess I have to accept it: 36er T9 bricks, triple glazing, underfloor heating everywhere, wood stove and modern gas condensing boiler are not enough - there has to be solar or a heat pump added... of course without subsidies. If I also wanted those, I would have to invest much more (external insulation, roof insulation, etc.). What other cost-effective options would there be?

There we have it: Solar is indeed an option that makes one doubt the payback period, but at least it is the cheapest option. It is no coincidence that the BUs have gas with solar as the standard in the (Lock-)program.

What other cost-effective options would there be?

We are currently building:

- Single-family house, approx. 130 m2 living space on 1.5 floors / without basement
- 17.5 cm exterior wall KS + 14 cm ETICS
- no KFW!
- no decentralized ventilation system with heat recovery
- no fireplace stove on the ground floor

and have also decided against the solar system, because it is not profitable... especially since only east/west orientation is possible on our roof... so we have received our building permit / energy certificate.
