Regarding the question of impact sound insulation: Our floor construction consists of screed, leveling compound (partly filler), adhesive, and then the vinyl. Therefore, impact sound insulation is unnecessary, as a solid connection is ultimately created between the screed and the vinyl. I also initially thought that it might crack when walking over it, like with laminate. We definitely did not want that. The advantage of gluing is also that the individual planks can be replaced separately if something should happen. Now it is such that at first glance you can hardly tell whether it is real wood, tiles with a wood look, or vinyl. This was also confirmed to us by an acquaintance who is a flooring installer: With the new "design floor coverings," he always has to look and feel for a while to know exactly what is laid there. Regarding the water on the floor: When the vinyl is glued down, we were told that even a 10-liter bucket of water could be spilled. The floor is relatively insensitive, and we could also have installed it in the bathroom.

Why did you decide against vinyl in the bathroom, if I may ask?

This also applies to parquet, BTDT. You shouldn’t leave the water standing.

In our newly built row house, we have almost completely click vinyl (solid vinyl without MDF board) on the ground floor and first floor. Only in the guest bathroom on the ground floor and the main bathroom on the first floor do we have tiles. We moved in at the end of November and so far are really satisfied with the click vinyl. Although we do not have underfloor heating, the flooring is not cold (nor warm, just "normal"). Besides, we don’t have to worry about spilled liquids - toddler! The only thing that bothers us is that unfortunately we have a few (few) scratches in the vinyl, probably caused by careless workers with small stones stuck to their shoes. However, that would have been the case with parquet or laminate as well.

Currently, I have 8€ laminate flooring in the rental apartment. A few drops and it immediately swells up. Really crappy. Therefore, I am looking for the "right" floor for me. Of course, I would never leave water standing, not even on tiles. I think eventually everything gets ruined. I actually find zero disadvantages in vinyl, except that I don’t know if the stuff is harmful to health. There are probably plasticizers in it, right?

Does a vinyl like that get pressure marks from the couch? Can you check?
