A wooden floor, whether plank or parquet, is practically indestructible.

A great alternative to vinyl flooring is design flooring. Many think it is the same thing. But design flooring is not made of PVC like vinyl flooring, but of PET and therefore deserves the Blue Angel. Same scratch resistance, same foot warmth. So to speak, the advantages of vinyl without the disadvantages. Also available in a low installation height of 5mm. Comparable in price to a high-quality vinyl floor. Parquet is, if you have the necessary money, also a top product that is not really prone to moisture. However, one should choose a parquet with a spruce core layer, as spruce is less susceptible to water than HDF. For underfloor heating, fully glue down (less heat loss because no air layers are present) This applies to every floor that is installed over underfloor heating.

That is not correct: there are design floors made of PET and PVC.

The Blue Angel quality seal for PET only refers to the recycling property.

The significance of the Blue Angel must also be questioned nowadays; in the 80s it was worth more.

Best regards in brief

Personally, I have never heard of PVC coverings that call themselves design floors, which of course does not mean they do not exist.

However, the PET coverings are produced free of plasticizers (at least from the manufacturers I know). I would of course be stretching it too far to say that no other possibly controversial substances are contained.
I am not a chemist.

I do not know that Design-Boden is a protected term, so it can be anything. It must therefore be checked on a case-by-case basis whether harmful substances are contained, objectively or subjectively. And of course also whether the design (look, feel) is appealing.
