As I said, we do not have underfloor heating. In the attic, which is half master bedroom and half storage area (room divider with large wardrobe), we had laminate flooring installed. Although it is high-quality laminate, it is still significantly cheaper than solid vinyl. The lower price was decisive for us, and the area is simply used much less frequently, especially the storage area. Laminate is sufficient for us there.

Beyond the price, however, I would have no real argument in favor of laminate.

I had the screed laid higher in the rooms with vinyl than in the bathrooms. This way, everything has exactly the same height.

But then you must have known the exact height of the tiles and the vinyl from the very beginning, right?

Yes, of course, before pouring the screed you have to know what you want. Then you can calculate downwards from the top edge of the finished floor (for tiles tile thickness + tile adhesive, corresponding for other floors). The last stair step must also be taken into account. You must not make the screed arbitrarily thin.

With us it worked quite well: From the top stair step it now goes flat over cork up to the tiles in the bathroom through appropriate screed heights.

BTW: Tiles, not fließen or fliessen.

Regarding the height compensation: We have a tiler from our general contractor, who finished the bathrooms, and our own floor installer for the vinyl "brought along". With the help of the leveling compound and troweling at the transitions, he almost exactly matched the heights. So a small height difference should not be a problem for a professional...

Why not do it correctly over the screed right away. It cost us about 800 euros extra, so it wasn't really significant.
