Gira Homeserver with corresponding app, TKS...
Um. You fundamentally misunderstood something: The ETS doesn’t manage anything, it only parametrizes your KNX devices. You need it for the initial setup, and indeed for absolutely every "real" KNX installation.
You can put an extreme amount of "on top" on an already parametrized KNX system, but MyGekko wouldn’t even occur to me as a last resort. Look into KNX visualizations—that’s what the "on top" is called, which handles the logic and displays everything nicely. Well, there are also pure logic machines, but let’s just ignore those for now.
Hi all,
maybe some of you are still following this topic. Since the Light&Building in Frankfurt unfortunately had to be canceled, I actively got involved with myGEKKO and took a look at the system at a "Solution Partner."
I have to say, the simplicity is unbeatable. Commissioning Raumbus (=KNX) is child's play and the nice thing is, I don’t need ETS.
Furthermore, I can integrate other devices and systems with familiar interfaces according to the same principle, which I missed a bit with other systems.
I can do everything myself, commissioning, integrating Sonos, lawn mower via API, etc. Timers can also be adjusted by my wife herself, as it is really easy.
Therefore, I decided on the system, also for the display, since I can use it simultaneously as an indoor intercom. Furthermore, I can save one or two push-buttons near the display.
I’m curious whether it will be as easy and feasible in practice as it seems so far.
If I don’t manage, I have KNX in the house and can still switch over.
If anyone is interested, I’d be happy to report on my experiences.
Best regards
Reasons? My electrician also recommended that to me.
