I already know the forum, but for my standards it is too elitist, indeed, I don't find what I am looking for there or not in a way I understand, here I feel more comfortable as a "newbie" Current setting is based on BJ Welcome which has bell and server in the visualization. However, I wonder if I would be better and cheaper off, for example, with Gira in combination with a Siedle (they surely have a KNX interface).

Siedle and KNX is probably the most expensive solution overall. But it works.

What are presence detectors actually intended for and where would you install them? Sorry, I am so "lost" on this topic. I have already read quite a bit about it here, but the topic of "intelligent house" is driving me crazy.

The electrician recommended MyGekko to us.

Everywhere can be used for presence, monitoring, temperature, lighting conditions, air quality, etc. Depending on the detector.

1. Why? 2. If it's driving you crazy, why are you dealing with it? A life without smart home is not so sensible, but still possible

1. because there are too many systems / opinions and sometimes too much high-level technology, it feels like.

2. because I still think it's good and I try to understand the topic.
I don't have to network everything down to the smallest detail, but at least prepare it
