Is there actually a reasonable affordable solution for windows that detects glass breakage? We will have two reed switches on every window/window door. But as far as I understand, they should not trigger if the glass is broken, right? Assuming you wanted to integrate that, how would you do it?

So the whole topic with reed contacts I really find expensive. I mean, my window manufacturer wants around €60 net per sensor and the binary inputs (8 windows) for the KNX also cost about €250 net. Selectively it is probably sensible but with all windows it would cost quite a bit of money.

That's true. We convince ourselves that the high costs for the windows get lost in the basic noise. Since they are installed by the window manufacturer, they are there whether we use them or not... Better than retrofitting...

That's true, yes.. Is there actually a subforum where one can exchange ideas about the concept? I would like to join the discussion regarding Gira or BJ.

There is a KNX forum, indeed. I am not allowed to link it, but it should be easy to google. I find it a bit, let's say, "elitist" there. But in that case, you have to rise above it.

Sure, for example from ABUS and many others. You stick these things in a corner of the window glass and then connect it to a binary input. My parents already had something like this in their house on an ABB alarm system 35 years ago. A quick search shows you can find them online for about 15 euros.

What exactly do you mean here?
