You can definitely use an external hood. You don't have to rely on the kitchen planning for that.

So you would say that I should choose a stronger one than the Siemens IQ300 for an open kitchen?

We definitely need to use recirculation mode first.

Would you recommend the one from Berbel?
What do you think of Miele?

Which manufacturers offer very good recirculation hoods with a good price/performance ratio? Noise level is of course also important in an open kitchen.

I have already been completely banned once for referring to other f o r u m s. But even in your case, there are special groups elsewhere that deal exclusively with kitchens and appliances. P.S. Berbel is awesome!

Does it have to be the Ergoline from Berbel? Or would the Smartline be enough? 2k for a cooker hood is pretty steep. The oven and induction hob together come to 2k. What advantages do the Berbel recirculation hoods have compared to other manufacturers when Berbel is always advertised as non plus ultra?

I would like to know that too. I never cared about hoods and somehow we never felt the need to say "our hood is just crap..." so far they have never been any special ones, mostly the simple versions.

Berbel has made a good name for itself; you can find them on almost every corner and they represent the "top" of the range in stores there. Whether the central claim "centrifugal force without grease filter" is truly unique and better, I cannot judge. Many people seem very satisfied with it. Falmec advertises that they are the only ones to manufacture recirculation hoods that ionize the air during cleaning. We have such a hood; whether it is actually better I cannot determine. From time to time, the hood thinks it detects bad air and starts ionizing. Faber relies on a "Nautilus Technology" and promises higher efficiency with lower energy consumption. All claim to be quiet or extremely quiet. Well, somehow all hoods make some noise at head height.
A safe decision to get the best value for money is not easy with all the marketing talk. That is probably why so many rely on Berbel – there are simply many references and a good majority opinion.
