High-quality rather more expensive.

Even more expensive...

BMW or Benz?

Yes, ceramic is different. Ceramic is great, heat-resistant, super hard, can have a great look, but it is also just super ridiculously expensive. Granite is simply not a kitchen product for me, because of its sensitivity to acids. I would either choose quartz composite (best of all worlds), solid wood (very nice if it matches the rest, but maintenance-intensive), or CPL (if the budget is tight). We will probably have to take CPL first and will go for wood imitation but in white. Last year I still wanted white quartz composite at all costs, but both my wife, who suddenly no longer wanted pure white, and the construction delays and the immensely increased costs put a stop to that for me.

So, we have a two-line kitchen and also two-colored. We have a ceramic cooktop on the island and a sink on the back wall with Nero Assoluto. For me, the perfect combo. Obviously not the cheapest. I find the feel and look of ceramic great. Both can chip at the edges. Our ceramic therefore has rounded edges. The Nero has a beveled edge. Recently, I scraped a heavy cast iron pot against the granite countertop. The bevel already has a slight mark. Not bad and not visible, but damage can happen anywhere. If price is not the factor (just ask for an offer if in doubt), I can only say that I think the ceramic countertop is amazing.

By the way, I would always prefer practical experiences like those of to theoretical considerations like mine...

Me again. Our sink is made of ceramic, unfortunately it has already cracked once.. but it was replaced and now it has a chip again. I wouldn't choose a ceramic sink anymore, especially since it was quite expensive.

I absolutely do not see any damage on the quartz yet.

Haha, thanks. But experiences are always subjective. Just like tastes differ. I have had experience with granite countertops for 15 years. And granite is pretty cool. In our 15-year-old kitchen, the countertop (also Nero Assoluto) looked like on the first day (also here incidentally minus a chipped edge) Price/performance is the best for me here because Nero is one of the cheaper granite slabs. Therefore, if the price for ceramic is too much for me, that would be my personal first choice. I just like durability and I'm not into patina.
