Keyless access systems

I am currently also looking into the access options and want to dig up this thread again.

What are your experiences with the systems so far? Especially the RFID transponders are increasingly popular, but the advantage over a regular key is not entirely clear to me.

We will probably install an IP video door intercom system from Doorbird or Goliath; here there is the possibility to integrate the respective modules directly. Alternatively, the systems are installed in the front door itself. What are the advantages or disadvantages here?

That makes sense, after all it has no advantage. You always have to carry a key, which then is just a plastic card, and the system overall is significantly more expensive.

Lower risk of loss when using biometrics. In case of token loss, blocking is possible instead of changing locks. Time-controlled access permissions can be granted, etc.

What the point of an intercom system with video for €1000 and more in a single-family house is, I just don't understand. But we've already had that discussion. Apparently, there are people or areas where one cannot trust their own driveway or even the locked door.

Are there currently any "affordable" access systems that someone is already using and has had good experiences with? We have a front door with automatic closing and opening and would like to control it soon. We are now looking for the "best, affordable" solution to implement this. Fingerprint or code, etc. Thank you

So I am still very satisfied with my fingerprint scanner (Fuhr). Not having to carry a key and the fumbling afterwards is simply priceless. I would also find entering an access code on a keypad interesting, but I still find that even less secure.
