Is financing feasible or are we overextending ourselves?

Alright, thanks! It's added to the list, won't be forgotten, and will be treated with higher priority. We'll get an excavator and so on for a crate of beer.

Reluctantly, but possible. If an unforeseeable cost comes up, it’s certainly doable. I don’t want to plan for that right now.

well now it's slowly getting interesting and expensive....

AND

you don't build according to the budget!

this will be a disaster, I'm putting myself on the line!

This is a tight squeeze, but it is doable.
There are some cost drivers ([Sanitärobjekte], [Dämmung], [Elektro]) in our own hands where quite a bit can already be saved. Especially when I think about the bathroom area, five-figure savings are possible here.
If you then practically get a digger for free, that helps too.
With an average client, I would also say that is impossible, but here I see the right contacts/motivation to create an unusually affordable build.
Also, the information that in an emergency (which will probably occur to some extent) private safety nets still exist is important.

I have already sensed some potential for that after the corresponding comment earlier regarding the wedding. Would it be an option to only buy the land and pay it off so that you could build later? You should be very, very sure about the final amount in this setup. This includes things like development costs, back payments (for example, the sewer connection fee cost us a low four-figure amount). Also small stuff like lawn and the corresponding mower cost money – and don’t be too optimistic about how much extra you can set aside besides the installment for "we’ll do it later."

noted! I’ve increased it to 600k.

Yes, as soon as we have the complete price list from the construction company, we will make a precise list of what we will cut and do ourselves. Building services and sanitary have been fully calculated. I can put the offer in a spoiler here if desired.

Yes, we kind of lived by that motto for the last years and have “learned our lesson.”

What would be the point of buying the plot now? There wouldn’t be many possibilities to save equity then with rent + plot installment. We’re currently paying 1000 euros rent monthly for nothing, which could flow into the house.

The terrace should be 7m wide and about 4m long. Can you roughly estimate the price range?
