Man people, this thread is turning ridiculous. The thread is called "Are we overextending ourselves". The negative postings are being wiped away and now it's all rosy for the dream house at the dream price. You should rather deal with the construction partner. Who is willing to have trades removed! We have a building boom! I also don't go to the bakery and say let me get to the oven. You do coordination and the rest and I pay 30% less for the bread! Also, incidental building costs are always a topic in the forum. So first do your homework and don't dream.

You don’t have to read it. Everyone who wants to participate with serious advice is welcome.

Nothing is being wiped away here. I keep that in mind but can only properly compare when I have all the offers.

A lot of nepotism is involved here. My dad was the contact person for facades, insulation, materials etc. for 18 years at the construction company and we maintain a very good relationship. There is a lot of accommodation happening here, whether you believe it or not. But in the end, of course, I only know when I have reliable numbers.

That’s what I’m here for. And I have learned a lot so far. Unfortunately, you don’t provide much useful information, especially not with any kind of reasoning for your statements. But to get a rough overview of how to classify other users’ postings, I always like to look at their recent posts. With you, I notice that threads immediately get a negative mood when you participate.

I put all info on the table but also expect that the interaction remains polite and fair! Please keep it that way too.

I’m just a financial geek. Juggling customer data and way too much to give the green light here. For you guys it’s dark yellow. And yes, without concrete figures, there is no loan.

Then you know more than I do. We also set ourselves a budget.

One should not build according to the budget anyway, but according to the needs.

The thread has taken a funny turn here. Under these circumstances, the construction can really get started!

Speak your mind? For us, this is no joke.

To fairly assess whether the whole story is possible, I just wanted to explain how we imagine the implementation, where we plan to save, and what we intend to do ourselves. Only in this way can you estimate whether the story works.

We discussed the suggestions about what we forgot to consider and estimated the costs. Where was there a turn?
