Hello Monster,

so now again about you and your problem.

With your 2.5 meters, how do you want to divide the sliding doors? To my knowledge, there are no sliding doors with 1.25 meters.
Everything else doesn't make sense for you. With the combination of 1.5 meters and 2 meters, you always have an area on the wardrobe that you cannot reach because it is covered by the large door. I can only recommend the 2 or 3 meter option to you or then completely move away from sliding doors!

Regards Bruno

So dear community!

IT WORKS!

I have the power!

A Pax 236cm fits in a room with a ceiling height of 238.5 cm!

I proceeded as follows:

I completely pre-assembled the 2nd door.
Then I attached and screwed the next 100 cm carcass and afterwards the 50 cm carcass to the first two.

Afterwards, I slid the inside-running door onto the track mounted so far. Then I slid the outside-running door onto the track. All fittings, including the ones at the bottom, were already mounted here. For the outside-running door, one person should be inside the wardrobe to guide it onto the top and bottom tracks!

Then I slid and fixed the connecting elements of the tracks into the mounted parts and then attached the other two track pieces to the new carcass.

And behold, they run perfectly and I still have the mentioned 1-1.5 cm space at the top.

I definitely recommend fixing the carcasses to the wall to give the whole thing a certain basic stability. Best done before the tracks are connected.

Best regards, your Bruno

And you can do it too! :D

Hello Bruno,
congratulations on the assembled wardrobe :D

Of course there are sliding doors for the 2.5 m wardrobe. They should then also be 1.25 m per door.
If at 2.5 m the rail also consists of 2 parts, it should be doable like with you.

What spoke against first assembling the whole wardrobe (3 m), then attaching one rail with 2 doors and then screwing on the 2nd rail?

Thanks again for your report....the Ikea employees should learn a thing or two from so much creativity.

Regards Monster

Hello Bruno,
thanks for the success report.
I will start in about 2-3 weeks.
I will also report success then. Hopefully.

Hello everyone, I followed Bruno’s instructions and managed to do everything as well. In my case, the room is even a bit lower at 238 cm and in the corners only 237 cm (which gets really tight).

Some of my notes:

1.) It took me about twice as long to assemble the doors as it did for the carcasses. I had 4x 75 cm carcasses and doors.

2.) The "A" frame for the doors is the inner door. This is relevant if, like us, you have a pattern on the doors and want (or she wants) the pattern to be at a specific spot on the wardrobe that does not match the location IKEA intended. (the "branches" on the Tonnes doors). Then you either pay attention or assemble everything first, only to disassemble everything again and reassemble it the other way around.

3.) Also, we did not want the "besom brushes" on the doors to the room entrance to be visible. Think ahead or possibly only glue in the besoms when everything is really finished, just before hanging the doors!

Best regards and many thanks again to Bruno Michael

One more thing:

I pushed the doors in from the side, meaning you need at least 75 cm of space NEXT to the Pax wardrobe with my 75 cm door.

I don’t know what Bruno means when he says you can push them in if you stand directly IN FRONT of the wardrobe. Theoretically, it might be possible to slide the door onto the rail while the rail is not yet attached to the Pax wardrobe and then attach the door with the rail to the Pax wardrobe. But that will probably be quite difficult.

Maybe Bruno has another tip.
