How often do you use your roller shutters?

I have never been bothered by the strap-operated blinds in the rental apartments. The thermal bridge would be an argument for me, okay. But otherwise, I don't find it bad. They still looked good after years and I never heard of any repairs. My parents have lived for 25 years in 3 different apartments with such blinds, in the last one they have lived for over 10 years already, they use the blinds daily and everything is perfectly fine, the houses were built around 1992.

I wouldn't want any venetian blinds, even if I had enough money for them.

We only have venetian blinds on two doors, the grandchildren love them. Little people can play with them really well, leave their marks on the glass, and look outside perfectly.

There are simply people in this forum with different demands and needs. And I think it is good that this question was asked. However, I cannot imagine that anyone here who has spent a decent amount of money on their whatever-shading will now admit that they don’t need it or actually don’t use it. I myself had the Astro-automatic and roller shutters everywhere in my first (used) house: at some point we switched that off and operated the roller shutters by button as needed. Because let's be honest: no one installs or sets up garden lighting that is then necessarily denied to them in the evening. And the venetian blinds: one could also nastyly say that it is a new horizontal type of grating or barrier of direct view between inside and outside.

That's why I wrote it's ok to say "electric blinds are too expensive for me." What I dislike is this "you don't need them" even though I say "they are too expensive for me."

Whoever spent on whatever shading now admits that they don't need it or actually don't use it.

But they should, otherwise they are just as dishonest as the "I want to save here but say you don't need it" house builder.

Then it was absolutely the wrong comparison here. You have to compare venetian blinds with roller blinds. If you want a clear view, you can raise both. If you want shading + view, you need venetian blinds. Here they are definitely superior to roller blinds. Because with lowered roller blinds I definitely feel much more locked in than with tilted venetian blinds.
