But even a passive house has windows that you can briefly open, right?
It's hard to explain. We are always invited for dinner with everyone at Christmas. And tilting a window slightly open is not enough, it has hardly any effect. Nowadays, they don't even turn on the stove anymore when guests come. Nevertheless, the living room heats up so much from the people that you basically have to keep a veranda door open all the time. But then someone is always sitting in the draft in December, which is unpleasant. If you close/tilt it, however, it quickly becomes as hot as before again. In summer, however, they seem to have few problems, which also surprised me. It is probably due to the roof overhang that was built specially for this, and we live in a very rural area here. The house is not located in a densely built-up new development area. They were lucky to get a good piece of meadow next to the house. There are now chickens running around there, and there is quite a bit of green space around the house, including old trees and shrubs. This also blocks direct sunlight from the house.
