For 4-5 years hardly at all. Only the south window of the bedroom gets shading in summer or during a full moon, sometimes also the windows on the south side in the hot summer. But not at all at night/evening.
I also recommend looking at the lighting situation around it. Both in my parents' house and in our current apartment, my/our bedroom was partly illuminated directly by the street lighting. For some, a pleated blind is still enough, but I am glad to have the roller shutter. In an apartment we had in between, for example, it was less of a problem.
Apparently not, otherwise the sister would regret it. Why does one even doubt something like that?
Hmm, I’m having a hard time telling whether this is serious or irony right now? A passive house is designed for solar gains. In winter a great thing, in summer without shading quickly much too warm. With roof overhangs and such you can of course mitigate that somewhat, but especially in the mornings and evenings the sun is still low and shines in.
In a passive house, you should be cooked in the summer, right?
I don't remember all the details, but I think they have particularly large roof overhangs so that the sun doesn't come in so much. The biggest problem is rather in winter when they are heating, and people come to visit. You suffocate when suddenly 8 instead of 2 people are in the living room, because the heat simply can't go anywhere. =)
So far, I always thought that we save heating costs if the blinds are down throughout the house at night during the heating period. Am I wrong with this assumption? They certainly help a lot during summer heat.
